Apa Sushi is the fourth restaurant owned and operated by Chef Sonam Nyorie, a Tibetan immigrant who came to the US in 2010.

Apa Sushi honors the cuisine of Sonam’s homeland while showcasing his skills as a sushi chef — a craft he’s developed working in multiple sushi restaurants on the east coast and in the Twin Cities after starting out with his popular food truck, Volcano Hibachi.

Apa Sushi and sister restaurant Ama Sushi honor Sonam’s cultural heritage as well as his family.
